This place was "basic", but turned out much more run-down then it seemed online. There were a few cabins, and several motel-style rooms accessed via the main building. And while the rooms were simply furnished and relatively clean, they also seemed to be underkept. To be clear, they weren't dirty, but very worn (i.e. walls needed painting, bed frames needed replacing) and some elements were broken (tub drain was broken/cracked, bar fridge didn't work, pool wasn't actually functional). The three biggest issues: 1. We visited in September, and the rooms' sliding door was open when we arrived. This left the room very cold, and the heater/AC unit wasn't operational. 2. There doesn't appear to be a staff member available at all times, as trying to check out at 9:30am was apparently earlier than when anyone was available to take keys/payment. 3. There were no clear instructions on how to contact staff members and the convenience store, restaurant/bar, and actually staffed hours were not posted anywhere - neither on the premises or online. All in all, it wasn't a horrible place to stay, but did seem like it could use some TLC and renovating. The staff member I spoke to was very nice. They even recovered my laptop charger that I left behind, and mailed it to me.
Location is at the corner of the main entrance to Greenwater Lake Provincial Park. Location has a convenience store, gas station, restaurant and bar. Cabins are also available on the same site. Rooms are fairly average. Price was a bit high for what we got for a room. But it was during Canada Day Long Weekend.
The place looked great with lots of potential fries poutine and chicken strips were great however we ordered a Chinese noodle dish and ended up with pasta einsted of noodles. Also got a order of dry ribs and it was the smallest order of day ribs I ever seen especially for the price ,house special burger seemed burnt on the outside and not fully cooked in the middle . The staff was great very polite and helpful. However we will not be returning due to the high prices for mediocre food. I guess we just expected a better experience from such a beautiful and classy looking place
Quaint, with a lot of potential, however we were not greeted well after travelling 3 hours to get there. When it was time to check out the office wasn't open, we called a phone number and they stated they don't come in until 10 am. The room we're clean but sparse, they had complimentary coffee and a kettle. The room smelled terrible and was frigid when we got there, we think they'd left the deck door open to try to air out the smell but it never got warm as the heater/ac didn't work correctly. Location is good, right before a provincial park so you don't have to pay for the park unless you're actually attending it.
Great service, friendly staff. Good food
